![]() Hello P99 Community!
My wife and I just started playing a few weeks ago and we have both found the server to be much more... challenging than we remember. Mostly, we are enjoying the challenge, but there has been a steep learning curve. For example, in my eagerness to begin grouping with my wife's Wood Elf Druid, I moved my Iksar Monk waaaaay to early. I've been killed by so many guards, faerie nobels, and other wandering NPCs that I'm not really having much fun. To make it worse, I haven't been able to train with my GM since leaving Cabillis and have several kicks I am dying to learn, not to mention sneak and FD! Enough of the preamble, here is what happened and why I need some help. After finding a helpful druid to port me, I finally made it to Emerald Jungle - one step away from Field of Bone! Unfortunately, I was killed by a skel immediately after zoning. So now my lowly level 11 corpse is rotting there, and I have no way to get to it. Ideally, some loveable Cleric would be willing to drag me to the ZL and rez me there, but I don't care about the xp. I am very open to other suggestions. I just want to get my corpse and make it to FoB where I think I can level up and get some skills that will help me cope in a world that hates Iksars. Thank you for your sympathy if not your assistance [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] -Drake

![]() From the sound of things, it seems like you might have been playing on Faydwer continent instead of Antonica. Let me first point out that monk trainers are far and few between but someone started a thread here about them under server chat -- http://www.project1999.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=246671. My suggestion would be the following for the future, find a higher level druid that can cast wolf form on you and use the one in Freeport for sake of ease. Iksar can work up faction to the point where they can walk into places without getting attacked but it take some work, I just haven't done it too much for mine. I had my lil monk get ported up to EC by a Petition to GM's regarding some stuff and well decied to try to make a go at things a bit. I first off tried to get friendly with the Halflings in Rivervale and this worked to a degree using bandages but the clerics there still hate me and would instantly kill me. So in order to try to make a new home, I moved over to highpass and mashed down on Orc and Gnolls so that I could faction up and bind in Highkeep which isn't too bad. There is a Bard at enterance that you will be KoS to still and this one Wizard guy that sometimes has blasted me as I went back farther into zone to bank but he usually stays in his little room. Let me just say you want to beat down mobs instead of using the scalps it will help you more in the long run.
In regards to the current situation with your body in EJ. If you post your in game name, I could see about using my druid to get you back out to it - sorry no cleric here to perform the power of prayer and instantly zap you back there. - Looking at how you signed post I'll check for Drake. For some character names are different then the forum names.

![]() Hmm...I have a cleric bound in LOIO, but a druid might be faster, depending.

![]() I have a cleric, send a tell to Healingwind, Gratefull, Zzen or Truheart, and we'll figure out how to sort it for you!

![]() I don't currently have a character bound in the area but I could give some feedback for getting Iksar faction in the old world as I have been through this myself recently.
I started off working on faction in WFP by killing orcs and turning in deathfist belts to the evil turn-in guard (Hazran) in the militia building. You will need to be in wolf form to do the turn ins until you hit dubious. I didn't count them exactly but I think it was about 75 belts to get to dubious. This has the side effect of lowering NFP guard faction when you turn in the belts but you gain NFP guard faction when you kill the orcs so it sort of offsets the hit which is why it's better to kill them then buy the belts IMO. From there you can do the "Rebby's Rat Whiskers" quest to gain more faction and can continue to kill orcs to raise NFP faction. The Rat Whisker quest is a bit tedious because you have to run back and forth from EFP to WFP but both NPCs are fairly close to the zone and you can also initiate the quest on a good character (get the note) and hand the note to Rebby for the whisker over and over without turning in the whiskers and then trade the whiskers to your evil character in mass for turn in (the whiskers stack). If you ultimately want easier access to NFP bank stop turning in the belts and just sell them. Killing orcs also increases your Ashen Order faction (I think) so you could get to the point of being able to train there. There is also a bard by the name of Fabian in the "Grub and Grog" located in EFP. You can give him 2gp and it will raise faction with NFP guards *and* NFP bards (easier to run to bank if you are not KOS to bards). This turn in has zero negative faction hit which is nice. I found this guide called "The Iksar Handbookd of Infiltration" that probably explains it better: http://mentalized.net/journal/2003/0...-infiltration/ I started out following this but then got an opportunity to tag Sir Lucan who was being killed in WFP. Sir Lucan can take you to dubious with NFP guards in one kill if you can get lucky enough to tag him when he's being killed. This has the side effect of immediately taking you back to KOS with WFP/EFP guards so I sorta wasted my progress there as I had already become dubious. However, after tagging him and then turning in 700g to the bard it took me from KOS to apprehensive with the NFP bards and to amiable with the NFP guards (bankers and merchants are on different faction). You can go in the bank and just stand against the wall out of LOS from bankers and use the 3rd person camera to click on them and still bank. So now I can run freely (for the most part) in NFP and bank as needed. You can access NFP directly from sewers in WFP so you don't even have to run through WFP/EFP.

![]() Some great feedback and resources to investigate. I didn't realize an Iksar could alter their faction enough to make such a big difference. Thank you!
As for my corpse, I had all but given up on it when, out of the blue, a cleric /tell'ed me to ask if I wanted a rez. Of course, I said YES! He was on the run so couldn't stay long enough to help me to the ZL... I died almost as fast as the first time. Those damn skels! Fortunately, I struck up a conversation with a Druid buying 'putrid rib bones' in Qeynos Hills and he offered to get me to FoB safely. Thanks Phooia! (or is it Pooiah?). Anyway, I'm all squared away now, and I don't plan to leave my home continent until I have FD to fall back on. In the meantime, I rolled a rolled a Wood Elf Druid to play with my wife, who opted to play a bard instead. Which leads me to my next question... Where should we go to maximize our chances of getting a group? E. Commons? Crushbone was fun for awhile, but it is often overrun with people power-leveling or farming belts. We tried Blackburrow, but it is usually camped by one or two people farming fangs. Deeper inside is usually free, but too hard without a proper group. We were drawn to P99 because of the large player base, but those in our lvl range seem to be hiding themselves. Thanks again. -Drake

![]() EC orc camps usually have low level groups running if you can't find anything in CB (usually when I'm in there, I see wall and throne room groups). Eventually in the teens you'll be able to go to Unrest, although that zone is always packed.
The best thing to do is arrange a pick up group and move them to the preferred zone. There are a ton of little camps around Faydwer that newbies can do (mino slavers, roamers around the windmill/mino caves, goblin camps in BB, chessboard in BB, etc), so you don't necessarily have to travel all the way to Antonica for some action.

![]() You could always start up a static group a couple nights a week. In fact I'm contemplating trying to get one going myself. I like to get off the beaten path and hit some of the less popular areas, camps, dungeons.
