I have a very open and available playtime.

try looking for enchanters.
/who all enchanter 1 60

replace 1 60 with the never range you want to group with.
I recommend enchanter with wiz because enchanter can give you breeze or clarity.

at level 29 you get an aoe snare called Bonds of Force which you may be able to use in combination with another ae/aoe class like druid, bard, etc.

Wizards are considered to be a very group unfriendly class. While you can burn down one mob fast, you will need to med a long time to do it again. Wizards are bad at sustained DPS, almost the worst of all classes (since basically all melees are twinked to a degree). So the only thing a wizard is specialized in is where the class isn't very good in the long run.

Wizards do play a role in raids, so if you want to be a raider...
