Default Disappearing Buffs when zoning

Hello,

I have recently picked the game up again. I had a fair amount of plat from a few years back and I twinked myself out somewhat nicely for a caster.

I'm currently running into a problem where I lose ALL of my buffs whenever I zone and I'm not completely full HP. This was happening the other day when I was zoning at 10-15% and I just chalked it up getting hit after zoning or some weird interaction with high level HP buffs on me.

I just lost all my buffs now though when zoning at 45% hp. I had jboots, lesser shielding, grim aura (necro atk buff), and a freshly received clarity. I killed a couple mobs and was oom and slightly under half health. I zoned thinking I would just med to full on the other side of the zoneline where I could step away from the computer while regenning. Instead I appeared on the other side of the zoneline still at 45-50% hp and completely stripped of all buffs.

Fresh clarity. RIP.

So... what am I missing?

Thanks,

Prydaa

Yeah, pretty sure its a bug that happens to nearly everyone when zoning at low health. Though I don't recall it ever happening at high as 45%. For me, it's usually when I'm below 20%.

It’s not a bug, it’s a feature. When you zone with less hp than you would have if you took off your hp gear and buffs it strips buffs.

If you start with more health and have dots, you can dot yourself up...zone across, then corpse yourself on the other side without any XP loss (good if you need to corpse for Howling Stones or something [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] )

Gotcha, makes sense. Thanks pals.

Question regarding one of these responses though. If I die from my own DoT -- suicide -- to create a corpse, I don't lose exp?

You do, unless you have zoned and/or camped with the DOT on you and are killed after the change in status. E.g. Dot yourself, camp out, log back in and die to your dot.

@OP Before they fixed it, it use to kill you. I prefer losing buffs to losing exp.

Wait, so does that mean your character is loaded first, then buffs and gear boosts are applied after? Is that how it resulted in deaths?

This is a to twinked problem, not a game issue. If you have tons of +hp and buff as Maliant referred to you will lose buffs when zoning at a certain hit points. For example a lvl 2 with 47hp puts on 500hp of gear goes and take 100pts of damage and loses all buffs because he zoned under his total non-buffed, excluding +hp items hit points of 47. If you take the hp items off on your way to the zone line you will find its possible to save the buffs as you bolt! Mo hp mo problems, gata watch out how low you zone or strip naked as you bolt shimmy your way to the zone line with mobs close behind. Glad to hear your back, this can always be a issue but the more lvls you get the less often it seems to happen.
