Default Velous BP question

I just got the corroded bp in a drop recently and I was wondering if I am correct that https://wiki.project1999.com/Dark_Runed_Breastplate can be used from inventory? I can't afford the gems to find out for myself until several more weeks of farming most likely. I was hoping someone who has it can answer for me.

Thanks!

Nope, gotta equip. Still great for between fights when solo or to recover full hp after a wipe by the time the casters have mana again.

unfortunately the cast time is very long on iBP click invigorate for melee classes. Its definitely useful at lower levels, but i've noticed at higher levels i can actually bandage faster than I can heal with the BP.. Below 70%of course..

It's about the same as a fungi except you can't move and have to keep channeling it instead of a constant effect like Fungi. I have both on my monk and use each at differnt times. Fungi is more powerful if that's what you're getting at. Melee kind of get screwed on th Velious BPs imo

Binding for my warrior is a bit faster than bp click but requires reagents. I’ll occasionally spam it during down time (because why not?) but I rarely think about it as a viable way of healing anything significant.

It’s a small situational boost. For those that have a fungi, that’s more meaningful imo. Even though it’s quite a bit less healing than actively clicking. It’s always passively there and doesn’t require you stand perfectly still and do nothing else.

For a sk that also has a fungi available, time spent clicking is time not spent medding.

PS: specifically for warriors I HAVE noticed that using it after a fight but while evasive or defensive is still up that it does restore big chunks of endurance as well. I have not tested whether or not it works after the disc has fallen but it does not heal endurance after a Rez. From the times I’ve seen this effective it is a significant perk. Especially if you’re clicking your 3 minute evasive every 7 minutes at 60.

Thank you for the added info. I have both a Warrior and an SK and I was deciding which to get the item to. I think in the long run the SK will get better use from a Fungi. Since it's been 5 years on the server and this was the first bp i won I wanted to choose carefully whom to give it to.

It really depends. On the one hand bp does give active heal to a class that otherwise has none (warrior - sk can life tap). But realistically fungi is THE BEST bp for tanking group content in game. Passive regen on p99 is just that powerful.

Ultimately I did the BP on warrior so I could pass the fungi on to my monk and then later to my paladin. At 60 for my warrior I’m getting complete healed anyways. Fungi is still best but fully buffing out to way over 5k and and crappy buffing out to always over 4K, having complete heal available or torpor is always preferable. That, and at 60 it has been way more than 6-9 months since I did a thing where we didn’t have a cleric.
