Default Warcraft 3

Warcraft 3 is most underrated game ever made. It spawned the entire MOBA genre is the most creative RTS ever made.

Most people, however, would rather play team-oriented games. Despite the fact that all they do is bitch at their team.

This is because they suck and can't face it.

Anyway I've played a few hundred games of every race (a bit less of NE because I did a lot in the old days).

It's pretty well balanced but I think Human is in rough spot to learn ATM.

Night Elf alternatively is easy as shit as it always was.

But once you get to a certain point they are mostly the same except a few match-ups on a few maps.

Warcraft 3: Reforged is coming out on the horizon. I think it will probably be worth it despite what a shitshow Blizzard has become (seen the stock / layoffs lately? ). It's just a graphics remaster with some updates and new maps.

Hopefully they add a few heros and merc camps.

Very fond memories back in the early 2000's playing WC3 custom games. Tower defense, DOTA, city builder RP, risk, etc

Not so much WC3 itself. I was very bad at it.

DOTA was where you could find all the WC3 terribads. It's kind of interesting, in gaming history, that I think it's the lowered skill bar is what made it more fun to lesser skilled players, hence more popular overall.

Finally, we agree on something.

Then again, it could be my nostalgia talking.

I also suck/sucked at RTS games but damn did I love Warcraft 2.

I played that game way too much and I was absolutely horrible at it.

Didn't care. Would rage and start another game. Repeat.

People would even peon rush me.

I was bad.

My first webpage ever was a Warcraft 2 fan site. Here's a wayback machine version of it (no cool 90's black lightning background, so you'll just have to imagine it [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]).

Pro-tip:

It also had (what I thought at the time at least) was the best collection of custom maps on the web. Oh the nostalgia!

I never played WC2. There wasn't a mac release iirc. Or my Dad didn't buy it. I remember the one time I saw it in person, looking over my neighborhood friend's cool high school aged brother's shoulder. It must have meant a lot 'cuz I don't tend to remember things like that. I thought it looked cool and wicked/edgy. Your screenshots sorta bear that out; the ogres are cooool.
