Level 1-3 should respawn with newbie weapon, food + drink
According to this source, up to date for Kunark era, new characters level 1-3 should be respawning with their weapon*, milk and buns.

Kunark Manual page 46 clarifies that this applies to characters under level 5.
Note: If you’re a new player (under Level 5) and you don’t have much experience or many possessions yet, dying is sometimes the easiest way to replenish your foodstuffs. When resurrected, you'll have 5 milk and 5 bread, enough for several days’ traveling.
