Question Too much to ask for a character face change?

I seem to have chosen a very popular face and want to give my existing character a face-lift. Can this be done?

Thanks in advance! =)

It's unlikely: names and faces are part of your identity, and both live and P99 GMs have always been very much against letting someone change their identity (with the one exception being that they force you to change it if the name is inappropriate).

You're almost certainly going to need to start a new character if you want a new face.

Used to be you were able to change your face anytime a few years ago. Alas! Not classic!

Honestly this is no longer a valid response to simple changes that don't effect gameplay. Don't get me wrong, I am ALL FOR patching out clearly unintended mechanics that are exploited by the userbase to provide an undeserved advantage. But since they're openly stating they're now making changes to preserve the "spirit" of classic (I know this is not the first "unclassic" implementation-- just the first time I saw one in the patchnotes that didn't have a real reason behind it) and not just implementing what *is* classic? "shit's classic"/ "not classic" means nothing.

I thought I read somewhere that this was something you could petition for in live, is that not right?

It is most likely that such a request would go unfulfilled. I'm nearly sure of it. This time your instinct is correct. A previous poster has correctly remarked on why.

These are both correct. In classic, there was no way to change faces, so you couldn't change your face. Many years later (after Verant became SOE, and maybe even after SOE became Daybreak?) they changed their policy and added a button to change faces.

P99 was originally based on code from that era, so it too had that button for awhile ... but like all most other unclassic bits in the stock EQ Emulator (/cough SHIFT+T /cough), the staff removed it to make things more like they were in ''99-'01.

Haha I didn't remember shift+T being a thing. Makes sense now, didn't realize it was an unclassic addition from later eras. It certainly is useful though [You must be logged in to view images. Yeah, I'm really conflicted on SHIFT+T personally. On the one hand, I've taken some great screenshots with it, and I'm not certain I even could have taken them all with F9. Better screenshots are fun ... and harmless.

On the other hand, SHIFT+T lets you "look behind" instantly, and that really does make some things (eg. kiting) easier than it was on live. The whole point of this place is to play real, classic (ie. hard mode) EverQuest, so making things easier with unclassic features feels out of place.
