Default entering UNKNOWN ZONE (temple of sol a), Disconnect every time I use worker sledgemal

Hello,

There are lots of zones in Kunark that make me disconnect when I zone, the temple of Solusek Ro makes me disconnect also. Sometimes I can never re-connect and I have to ask a guildy or friend to log into my account and move my character.

I've figured out if I jump through the zone line my computer won't crash, If I try to walk thru, I disconnect every time.

Also If I camp out in some zones and log back in I will disconnect, there's also a chance of disconnecting on camping out in these zones.

Whenever I try to use my worker sledgemallet to the overthere I disconnect.. there's no way to jump (that i've figured out)

Here's a partial list of zones that I can't zone into without crashing.

Firiona Vie, any attempt to zone into firiona vie without jumping makes me disconnect. I have to telephone a friend to get me out.

The Overthere, another zone where I have to telephone someone.

The Temple of Solusek Ro, says "UNKNOWN ZONE" instead of "Entering Temple of Solusek Ro.

Burning Woods, If I camp out in Burning Woods I get disconnected trying to log back in. I can usually get myself back into the game after about 2-3 log in attempts.

Swamp of No Hope, this is one of the zones where I have to telephone a friend to move my character thru the zone line for me.

--

This is just a partial list as I've been staying out of Kunark because of all the hassle. I've got a brand new computer, it's a 64bit processor on an i7 chip

Sounds like a pretty crazy problem...especially with the jumping.

Sol Ro says 'unknown zone' for me as well, and I've never had problems zoning in.

I had odd zoning problems too right when kunark came out. I found I had to reinstall the game. I would try that, especially if you upgraded to the higher quality textures

Sounds like something is corrupt in your game files imo. Did you possibly patch even for a slight second when installing the game? As much as i hate to do it, i would suggest reinstalling the game with the startup guide

Off the top of my hat I would say you are using the wrong installation or you just have files missing. Which version of EQ have you got installed ?

You really need Titanium to play here.

Id say reinstall again. Where did you get your copy of EQ from?

Moving to tech discussion.

Using Titanium or SoF?

Has it always been like this or did it just start one day?

Have you run any sort of installer that lightens the client by purging arbitrary post-classic files?

That would be my guess. It sounds like you should start with a completely fresh install, follow the instructions in getting started to the letter, pick a method from the multicore fix thread, and don't listen to anyone who isn't a dev tell you what files you do and don't need. We do make use of some non-classic files for workarounds to other issues.

I downloaded the titanium install from somewhere I don't remember, it was a full install not a lite version. I'll try to re-install. thank you

It's always been this way but it's only for Kunark zones and the temple of sol a.. I never even went to kunark once till recently so I had never run into any problems until now. I like to level in the old world [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
