Default 28+ shaman solo

Hello!

Any tips on where a 28 ogre shaman could solo well?

I've heard it gets better at 34.....

Guards? Birds?

post your solo guides if you have one.

Thanks [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Even at 34 it probably isn't going to beat a good group. Find a twinked ass monk and make yourself an asset to him, and go duo in mistmoore, unrest, dalnir, etc. That's gonna be like 3x as fast as soloing. Grouping in those places with a decent group is going to be 2x as fast.

When I was 29 I charmed a grimalkin in lake of ill omen and used it to gnaw through sarnaks, but they nerfed pet exp so... yea.

I did 28 soloing and duoing with monks at WW giant's fort. Duoing is a lot faster than soloing - if you're both good you can easily chain pull giants there which is more than can be said for soloing. If you don't like WW, SK birds are pretty classic xp for that level.

29 makes it easier since you get haste.

As has already been said, though, if you can get into a MM group or something that is where the really fast xp is. You could also try soloing the brutes in the Dalnir's entrance but keep it on the downlow because it's rarely camped.

Oh also. At 29 you can solo colin and valen (guards) in WC, the two static guards in EC (can't remember their names but they stand at houses) and Misty Thicket guards, who are great xp and cash. Actually a few places open up to you around 30-31: splitpaw spires, AC in UGuk etc. Try the progression server guide on the wiki, many of the places it mentioins are excellent

Around that level I believe I was camped at the Surefall Glade entrance in Qeynos Hills. There are two guards and two Millers there that you can kill easily and get money from the I think bronze weapons they drop (you can sell to a neutral merchant at the nearby Barbarian village in West Karana). After that I moved to North Karana, where I killed the three guards at the floor of the tower by the bridge to South Karana and the two guards at the tower a ways north of that one.

Halfling guards. Starting at 29 with the tower guards root rotting and as you get more comfortable you can add the other single pulls. Watch put for the level 40 guard.

Once you hit 34 and get a pet it's smooth sailing, easily some of the best exp and money at that level with 10pp+ a mob. If you do the bandage noob quest you can actually vendor as evil outside without messing up any faction.

The hardest thing is splitting the 3 pull in the arch post 34 but definitely doable. 6 min respawn so it's fast paced and the xp flies up till 36 or 38

Yeah, halfling guards in Misty Thicket are definitely good too, it's just when I was leveling my shaman they were perma-camped. Now that Kunark is out it's likely easier to get access to them.

Whats the trick with Halfling guards...I am doing the two either side of gate - Felp and Looh and Im finding it hard to regain enough power to keep on top of both spawns.

There's no trick as such... With my 29 shaman I would haste and regen myself, then go tagars-poison DOT-melee until dead. Maybe another DOT when the poison wears off.

That leaves me enough hp and mana to canni a little bit and kill the next one. If you're losing too much hp meleeing you should stack AC and get a decent weapon. I recommend the Poison Wind Censer which has the best DPS of any shaman weapon, better than the epic if I remember properly.

I haven't tried root rotting them but it seems like it would cost too much mana.

Poison Wind Censer has the best DPS of any shaman weapon... until level 20. Then your damage cap comes off and there are many others with better than a measly 2/3rds ratio.

Is this so? I'm perfectly happy to concede this point - what are some better weapons then? The wiki has the Censer as the highest DPS shaman-usable weapon behind only the Granite Face Grinder the Herbalist Spade and another.
