Do Melee classes suck?

I'm thinking of going OGR or DE shadow knight, but will they suck vs Wizards?? I heard that Melee classes were gimped. Besides that I'm trying to figure if OGR is worth less mana pool/exp penalty or go DE for an easier play through?? I doubt no frontal stun matters here

ogres can do some insane dps, though are big fat and clumsy, where as being a dwarf, you can hide and do barrel roll jumps which are'nt clumsy, just a little rollie pollie doing a barrel roll

Melees are not gimped in group pvp. They scale with raid buffs while casters remain static. Melees win mass pvp. Casters not so much.

Well my two thoughts are: OGR cant cast as many life taps/pvp will be harder to keep constant Melee hits. And that slam won't be as good as extra life tap spells. Do OGR really outshine Dark Elves significantly in damage?

Yes. If you dont have slam on this server as a war or SK, your doing it wrong. The INT is not going to save you in PvP. Slam will.
