Default Spell Prices too damn high!

Why are so many of the first level spells so expensive? I thought i remembered them costing silvers in live, but strike costs a whole gold! Is it just the vendors I'm looking at, because all of them have what seem to me to be overpriced spells.

Heh - just pray you don't have to buy one of your level 60 spells when the time comes.

In classic, lvl 1 spells were ALWAYS 1g each. Lvl 4-5 were like 4-5g, then lvl 8-9 started costing platinum.

This is working as intended.

Name one, cause I honestly do NOT remember a single spell costing under 1g ever. And I started in 1999.

Later on in expansions when they changed spells from being set spell lvls to getting less each lvl the prices got reworked. But in classic I do not remember spells ever being cheaper.

I played a necro in P3/P4 beta and release. I had a website dedicated to Everquest, Cold light, Sense dead basically anything with a cost of 5 mana was 4s 3c. As the mana cost increased so did the price. This is why gate was so expensive and level 1 necro spells like Invis vs Undead were real expensive (higher mana cost but also higher level for other classes).

Also you do not need to buy them all. Chances are you're only going to use a couple of those spells/spell lines for many levels. You do not need to buy true north etc. Use your money wisely.

My true north was free. I looted it off an orc pawn. Drop it on the ground, and it points north.
