Default Patcher issue

I just did the installer and brought up the patcher. But it cannot reach the server, and it does not appear under the server list. Anyone know why?

Anyone? First it says it cannot find the server, then when it updates it goes 3/4 the way there and an error pops up saying newversion.exe that I must install a .net framework?

Have you run Windows Update recently? I think you have to have the most updated Microsoft. Net framework to run it.

I had this problem on a different computer that I couldn't update, and I ended up just doing all the spell changes manually and didn't run the patcher.

Hopefully this helps. I was pissed when I couldn't get it to work.

Forgive me, which spell changes do you mean?

Originally, there wasn't a patcher (or at least not that I'm aware of) for Project 1999. So basically, any time there were code changes or anything else, you would have to download a zipped file from the website and manually extract the files to appropriate folders.

The patcher eliminates all that, but if you can't get it work, you might have to do it the old fashioned way that they explain in the setup guide (unless they've changed it since then).

Hopefully this helps? Sorry horrible at helping people troubleshoot, hah.
