What do you call a carbonated beverage in your part of the world?

Yeah heard this from a couple friends who moved south from Chicago (within 20 miles of the city here) we call it pop, hardly hear soda haha they heard it so much where they moved to it was worth mentioning

Definitely a regional thing, most people in the south call it Coke, then you have to elaborate on what kind of "Coke" (soda) afterwards.

I call it soda, but I am a rarity to not call it "pop" in Minnesota.

I call it soda. DUnno if I speak for all of Virginia though.

I guess the further south you go, it becomes Coke. Probably with the closer you get to Atlanta.

pop, but i still say soda often too. Honestly though that has more to do with me simply not giving a shit about carbonated beverages than anything.

I also try to actively switch up my word choice, so i'll call it both daily.

Most people 'round here say pop though.
