Are Shadowed men in the game yet? Was not sure but I guess they would have to be for at least the jboot quest to work...

There are 2 or 3 places in the game where you can buy runes to raise faction. I think they are like 30gold a pop or something... don't quote me on that.

Derv rings is something else you can collect easily and hand them in to the named Orc in SouthRo. Make sure you are handing in three at a time.

Sorry I'm not giving you more detailed info but this exact question has been answered a few times already on the forums.

EDIT:

Tarn in Highkeep (Erudite). hand him bloodstones for faction:

You don't hand the Derv Rings to the Orc actually.. You hand them to the Erudite in the tent. And giving him 30 gold increments is the easiest way to raise faction for temple, just hand the Erudite in the tent in the corner of South Ro 30 gold at a time for faction raise.

Bad news: Not knowing when to stop handing in gold cause you're already amiable, other thann running all the way to temple to check the con. Iirc I gave about 120 - 180pp to get up to amiable myself.

Good news: Each time you give him 30g, he reaches into his spell bag and gives you a scroll, by the end of it you can make back a 20%-50% or so of your money from vendoring all the spells you got

Hey I posted this a while back. easiest way is to go to Mistmoore. Get an invis to the graveyard. Inside the hut there their is a flower that spawns on top the sarcophagus (spelling...shuddup) bring that flower to the named shadowperson behind the hut (ssynthi or something). The flower respawns every 20 seconds or so, takes about 10-15 mins to go from almost threatening to amiable. Enjoy.

these are facts

timeframe is not an exaggeration either, 10-15 mins = threat->kindly

You definitely hand the rings to the orc. I've done it multiple times on this server:

That being said, the flower thing in MM sounds real good but it should be spawning in Lfay, not in MM.
