![]() He made the details public knowledge back in November. I wouldn't release details of a players past violations unless they had already done so.
Box has gone without staff intervention for 2 years and look at the population. We let the players police themselves and the server, and that failed. Now that we are getting involved its actually going up. It may be too little too late, but that doesn't mean we aren't going to try. Earth was forcing someone to bind camp him in order to continue playing. IE, denying another player the ability to play. It got excessive, so I asked him to scoot. Please stay up to date before you make posts telling us we are wrong about something. It remains to be seen if us getting more involved in the server will have long lasting benefits, but as of right now, population has gone up with the release of PnP.

What killed the box population was first xp loss in pvp, which favored zergs. Specifically, the Holocaust Zerg that explicitely said it was using xp loss in pvp to grief people off the box. That was the first wave of depopulation. The 2nd wave of population bleed was when Nihilum beat Holocaust at its own game and zerged them out. Now Nihilum was the top dog strictly from the amount of players in their zerg. If you tried to guerilla challenge them, it would never amount to nothing much because as soon as a couple of players ate xp loss, the numbers dwindled fast in a chain reaction of giving up. This was all explained multiple times to devs on the forums. I know this because i tried to organize and motivate people to challenge Nihilum. I was there, i saw all this in motion. The status Quo then became either join Nihilum, or dont do content for 1 year + Its one of those fallacies. Youve got the conclusion right (box depopulated) but you got the cause wrong. PnP is the wrong solution to a misdiagnosed problem

Sticking up for the GMs isn't the "cool" thing to do and you will see some real EQ bad asses slander their work on here but the ones that push back and fight against GMs making their presence known are the ones cheating, exploiting and griefing. The definition of what griefing means is one thing but nothing hurts a server more than true undeniable griefing, exploiting and cheating. Unfortunately the low population has created an environment where our players don't have the luxury of shunning players because guilds are starved for warm bodies. Since reputation means nothing GM intervention is the only way to rid the server of scum lords.

![]() Im not questioning their intentions, im sure they are honest about wanting the server to pick up. They just have their analysis wrong of what was the cause of Red's decline.
I hope devs and GMs dont hate me for my big mouth lol, props for not banning me and letting me speak my bit. Im pretty sure everyone (in the staff) understands that i would not be criticizing the server for so long and at length if i didnt care about it. My criticism is not the "burn it down" type. Although sometimes i let my exasperation at bad decisions get the best of me and drift a bit too much toward negativity. I guess its because i really wanted the server to succeed and seeing the solutions right there in front of the devs face on the forums for so long gets at me in the long run. It makes me think of what my uncle once told me, hes a smart chemist who was head of a College for a couple of years and said "We are hard on people sometimes because we love them". I loved the idea of an emulated EQ PVP server, thats why im being hard. The reason i would like the staff to get things right is because if a third server is launched, youll make the same mistakes again, or new ones, all because of improper diagnosis of what went wrong with red. And i might want to play on this 3rd server, if i see the ruleset is finally in a position to make a healthy pop possible.
