Oooh a fairly new fantasy series? I might have to read it.

I've never had luck reading fantasy stuff, but since this is all new and shiny I might like it.

I read it. Was good. Not quite as interesting to me as Wheel of Time, then again I am 35 now and was 15 when I started WOT. Also, the second book just came out this week. It is supposed to be 10 books long 'at least'. So I think this series will end around the time I am 55. Not so excited about that.

Now reading this:

Wow now that you put it that way no way can I read that series. I'm in the same boat as you with the WOT and age

For DMing this weekend.
I used to play 2nd edition about 15 years ago, recently played a few sessions of 4E at a game store(11 players...3 hours = one fight encounter)....

I recently bought Aces and Eights and it is by far the most detailed and complex rule system I've ever dealt with. It took a solid 5 hours to roll up some characters even with extensive DnD knowledge, and that's not even finishing off background history and explanation for certain skills, quirks, and flaws.

It's definitely worth a gander if you have any interest in a tabletop RPG based on an alternate USA old west history.

Very good read. Better than anything in WoT other than maybe first 3 books and last few by Brandon
