I hope I don't totally suck for too long. So far I'm just killing wolves and wondering where everyone is.

Ah thanks a lot! But uhh... as I'm probably the least educated person in the ways of eq since the first person installed it years ago, how might one go about contacting another? haha...

The wiki is full of useful info for new players, check out the newbie guide. For commands, there's this page: http://wiki.project1999.com/Commands

It's got a good list of commands for contacting people like /tell to send a private message or /who to check who's in your zone or if your friends are on.

Oh perfect. I'll be using this plenty. So how do I know which of your characters are on? Or do I just have to try each out?

You can type /who all vlakraien for each of his characters... or just attempt to send them a tell by typing /t Vlakraien, /t liito, /t rahban, etc. I'm not sure what class/race you made your character but some of the starter zones are FAR more populous.
