hawking and his buddy already figured it out

Adopt a view -- model-dependent realism -- the idea that a physical theory or world picture is a model (generally of a mathematical nature) and a set of rules that connect the elements of the model to observations. According to model-dependent realism, it is pointless to ask whether a model is real, only whether it agrees with observation. If two models agree with observation, neither one can be considered more real than the other. A person can use whichever model is more convenient in the situation under consideration.

People taking religious text literally... That's like trying to derive all of anthropology from a single source like EQ.

well there are persistent behaviors that emerge in the world and in EQ that could be used to derive a lot of the basic human bull shit! but if you accept 1 + 1 = 2 then there is no judeo-christian god

Except, I chose the word anthropology for a reason. It is far greater a field than simple human behavioral characteristics.

Just some definitions for perspective.

I think people are usually just a bit narrow focus'd in their knowledge.

Even a poor level of knowledge that is broad and wide and random is better than the more focus'd and specialized perspective. It gives a bigger overall picture.

We have people who will devote 100% of their time to mathematical models or 100% of their time to a judeo-christian denomination specifically.

Rarely do I see people who are fairly eclectic and interdisciplinary. Even if they are "theologians" or even philosophers.

I know myself that I have a fairly special outlook on the world that is unique and probably colored by my childhood and the internet. Vs many in older generations or cultures dedicated to survival or those that never broke the yoke of violence on their lives.

And as for the adaptability of the matrix. Sure, how deep does the rabbit hole go?
