2hb 20+ until you get epic. A wu's staff pre-20 will serve you well if you're short on plat for one handers though, even with the damage cap. Either way, make sure you skill up 1hb, 2hb and hand to hand as you level.

reinforcing this. I leveled with wu's and tbh in the late teens it was rough hitting for 29.. but I would regularly hit for 29.
