Yeah but what you're saying it just supporting what R Flair posted, that HBs pro variance post was self serving and had nothing to do with server health.
Self serving helping a competing guild like RD, yep.

Right now it's far too easy for Nihi.

It's easy because Nihilum built the best guild. Everyone started here on equal footing. You can't punish someone for winning, that's just stupid.

Stasis, the problem with making it the entire point of your R99 existence to snuff out Nihilum is that you aren't changing anything. Even if Nihilum was disbanded and every member banned tomorrow, within a month another guild would take its place.

It's EverQuest bro. It's the way this game works, and it is the way it always has worked. There are plenty of other choices for servers to play on that don't have a goal of duplicating the classic EQ experience - which not only encourages but basically requires a big dominant uberguild.

Maybe you and your crew should try one of those out.

Nihilum zerged better than holocaust, then xp loss mechanic ensured nobody could challenge that zerg. Nizzar is a competent leader for sure although annoying, and he knows the game.

Im not so sure if the devs removed xp loss in pvp while nihi was still campin fear in classic, allowing for guerilla guilds to flourish, we'd be looking at the same server.

That played a huge part in cementing Nihilum's dominance.

Also lots of angry nerds with huge egos who know about the game but couldnt lead their way out of a wet paperbag, unable to put their childish disputes aside for a common goal, end result being a fractured opposition. AKA lite, andis, Jibekn etc

What? I stated this when Nizzar left and Azrael took over. I didn't like it then either, static timers means one top guild (there is always a top guild) will take everything till they are bored and stop playing(never because Nihi are freaks).

It doesn't need to be this way, or at least in theory - try variance and see if competition starts.

If it fails you can always revert it back to 1 guild low pop blue box.

Variance sure has helped the little guy be competitive on blue. Hasn't catered to the large Zerg neckbeards whatsoever. In b4 level 30 ranger track pvp.

You can't get worse than 0, 0 competing guilds, 0 static raid targets outside of #1.

Expecting Nihi to be rolling around 24/7 keeping raid targets down is how it should be, not one day a week back to back.

If CT window was right now I would be fighting around that area, if two mobs were up it could get real interesting.

Instead we have nothing, boredom, 1 day a week farming.
