I started playing the server about July or August of 2007. There were literally 3 or 4 people online when I first logged in. Daxum and a couple others just testing things.

I found the server because prior to it, I had been playing this server known as Freeport vs. Qeynos (which was really awesome) that was just shut down and wanted to continue pvping. The server up until about the beginning of 2008 was pretty desolate, I want to say that there were 50 players online max. It was wiped very early like October of 2007 but that was before most people can even remember. The golden era was definitely when daxum was in charge, he was pretty level headed and kept the server at an equilibrium for the most part.

After it got wiped the 2nd time it started to diminish the playability also the fact we waited forever for Velious and that pretty much drove the game into repetitive mode (same thing is happening on Red99)

I wouldn't even consider playing on a box with regular wipes unless it's a seasonal type thing with crazy exp rates, with some sort of carryover rewards.

The way Path of Exile does seasons would be a bad ass way to keep a server fresh. Each season has a unique thing about it, like lets say in season 1 its full item loot. Season 2 its exp loss on pvp, season 3 its chromatic resists on magic based spells, season 4 all mobs have a chance to instantly repop 20% of the time or something.

Just a few dumb ideas but you get the point. You could add flavor and stuff to each season. Make them last like 3 months.
