She is either from Russia, which makes her a Russian. Or she has ancestors from Russia and was born and raised elsewhere, which makes her of Russian descent.

My wife's family was born and lived in Mexico, but she was born and raised in the states. So she is American, of Mexican descent. Her parents however were Mexican.

Not trying to make it go away. I have no problem defending and proving people to be imbeciles. I don't like when friends in game turn rabid on forums, but a couple bros and me were already men about it in PMs.
