Stuck at character creation

Hi, so this is the first time i've tried P99 playing on the pve server. I've been having problems creating my character. Once I get to where I give my character a name and hit next, a box opens up, it says: "submitting name for approval. Please Wait." and then it will not progress from there. Hitting Next or Back doesn't do anything and it's essentially stuck there.

I've tried restarting and retrying several times and even turning off windows firewall to no avail.

Eventually it ends up at a black screen that says "You have been Disconnected". Any ideas?

Make a class/race that isn't prohibited in classic. Halfling rangers/paladins Gnome SK/Pal are not compatible with p99.

Didn't make any of those. I've tried several different combinations of races and classes and none have worked so far.
