Default Velious Noob Question

Hi - I've been around p99 for a couple of years - very casually and infrequently however - I just recently had a couple of friends/relatives commit to playing.

We are still picking race/class combos for our group but I wasn't sure about the class exp penalties with Velious. As I understand, they will be gone come Velious... but are they going to be gone launch date? Or is that to be determined patch in the future?

My buddy is interested in some of the hybrids but opt for something else if it will be quite some time after the expansion release for them to remove the class penalty.

Thanks!

Exp penalties go away in velious but not at launch if memory serves correct. Roll a hybrid. It's not as bad as everyone bitches about

Has p99 followed the actual timelines of the patches? Would surprise me since we are way off base with the actual timeline of expansion releases.

My friend wants to roll a troll SK - so the 67% is quite daunting for a new player.

Group hybrid exp penalties go away for other members of your group, hybrid/racial penalties remain.

Is this true? First I've heard of that.

This is inaccurate. Hybrid experience penalties are removed entirely.

it wasn't stated very clear. i think he means to say that there is no group racial penalty, but your individual penalties remain.

Thanks!

So can anyone clarify whether the p99 staff follows the patch progression of the expansion? Or have they stated if the penalty is already removed on the beta or has that been tested? I assumed they just did all the patches at the beginning of the release and updated as necessary when they found bugs/tweaks to become more classic.

You know what, as much as I hate to admit it I think Herp is right. I remember the first patch just made the penalties so they weren't shared with group. In that patch hybrids were awarded bonus do to nullify their penalty. Later (SoL/LoY iirc) the penalties were removed in their entirety, causing some nice xp bumps for hybrids.

Woe! T.T
