I think the OP has got the message on that. For me, I think the community is better than this when it comes to RL stuff. RNF bleeding over to server chat more and more.

I'm just not buyin' it. So many people will come up with excuses to justify their punishments. If that's not the case, then I'm sorry. However, I feel like in the majority of these cases people are trying to tug at others heart strings to win support, thus my sassy reply.

I feel with a little more investigation into the matter, if the guy's story holds up and he wasn't actively using the other character, he shouldn't be punished for an easy mistake to make. But, yeah, it's much more efficient to just ban him.

Swish... just so can feel easy about all the criers and sarcasm on the forums. When someone starts a post ranting and flaming the staff within Server Chat, you should believe that it will be met with Rants and Flames posts. I can appreciate your desire to be on standing on a higher ground, but on such a trivial topic I didn't waste my time read much about between the first post and the initial page.

Yeah I don't expect him to receive a ton of sympathy, and I'm not the type for the moral high ground.. but some people need to think about what they're typing sometimes.

I wish I could delete the post it was a waste of time to post it. I guess I was a bit in shock for being banned for doing something as trivial as a transfer of bags. Considering I went about a year without playing I think I can wait out 30 days. I'm just not sure if I want to play anymore will see how I feel in 30 days.

You have to look at this from the perspective of the staff, though. If they let everyone who said they wanted to look at their wife's character side by side on the same computer, all the uberguilds would have a lot of family members that had recently had the disease as well that played EverQuest.

It's nothing personal against you, it's just a matter of the fact that if the staff allows one person to do it, everyone should be allowed to do it. You made a mistake by logging on two characters, and 30 days from now, you will be unbanned as will her character, most likely without an IP exemption anymore.
Again, I'm sorry to hear about your wife, and I hope the best for her and her family. I know what it's like to lose someone to that disease. It's devastating; I lived it for 5 years before my grandfather passed away. But exceptions cannot be made for a specific individual based on tragedy.
