Default Being blunt - what's the end game like ?

So I've come back to project 1999 after playing several other games and getting tired of WoW most recently. My real reservation is that when I last played I heard a lot about most end game "good" camps being perma camped and raid mobs being locked down completely with guilds bickering over everything (lots of drama). I'd also hear that getting your epic is pretty much impossible unless you buy every part from the guilds perma camping the raid mobs....

Honestly that kind of killed my will to play last time... I got my epic on live way back and didn't have to buy a part at all. So is all this stuff true? Am I just stepping into a hornets nest of drama?

And I can't believe I'm saying this, but red is sounding better right now. I just wish it had a better population.

I agree with you on Red vs Blue. Red definitely appeals to me more but the population is what has me slightly shying away.

However, with that said, I think Velious will create a small surge to Red and I think it's up to the community to make sure it keeps those players. Somehow they need to never see the forums. ;D

One of the things I like about Red is that I can theoretically band together with other players and contest the raid mobs. If I choose to be on a good team with good teammates, if I contribute to the guild, if I step up and help provide good leadership, then we can get there. My future/epic is in my own hands.

Also, the population on Red seems fine to me. There are plenty of groups. I've leveled my main to 58 and alts to 12, 20, 26, and 27 since I came from Live on November 7 (and I was AFK for a month to visit family over the holidays). Don't worry about twink PKs - just take your group to a dungeon on Antonica or Kunark and barely anyone will be there, if any.

The end game on blue quite frankly sucks. However, Velious is coming out soon. No one can do anything but speculate whether or not the additional content will improve the end game or just make it suck in a different way. We as a server will be charging into the new expansion with all lv 60s in every raiding guild. Every guild being capable of killing every target has had a massive detrimental effect on the overall fun of Kunark raiding. I'm inclined to believe that this will continue into Velious, albeit to a lesser degree. The only solution to this issue is a fresh server which would alleviate the congestion present in the end game temporarily. The problems in Kunark will happen in Velious eventually, the inevitable consequence of a timelocked server. All the same, there's more to do in Velious and I'm optimistic that you'll find your niche and have a good time if you play here.

You mean you've been able to twink out your alts and have no problem leveling. For *brand* new people, like me, I can say with certainty, it isn't as easy as people make it out to be. Unless you start in the very common leveling areas (and even then I had a hell of a time finding anyone to group with in Gfay) it's almost borderline a miracle that you happen to be starting when someone else is.

To be fair, I find the Red community helpful. Not as much as Blue, which is surprising, but I've had already someone step up and help me with a weapon which I appreciate immensely. I can finally kill higher blues, ffs!

blue server will be 5x better with velious release. Lots of shit will pop during quakes. If you join a non top 5 guild there will be plenty of kunark raid targets to go after and several velious mobs as well.

Every guild that can kill raid mobs gets their own epics. It also depends on what class epic since some are incredibly easy and some are incredibly rare.

Camps that have good drops are sought after, and are frequently contested. Nothing is 'perma camped' really. Don't expect to show up in lguk at prime time and have your choice of camps, but if you want to get on a list or come back when theres less players, you'll probably get whatever camp you want.

If I didn't have people to sell CB belts to, I dunno what I'd do. I'd still be rocking a rusty long sword.
