Are you really that daft? When FE came and challenged TMO, we weren't the ones socking. They were the kinds of getting VS simply because we refused to sock like they did.

Also, Taken was getting every Innoruuk and BDA nearly every Vox for weeks/months before these rules went in. Any idea why? Oh, cause they tried instead of cried. It was never hard to compete back then, y'all just wanted the easy route which, ironically, has become the much harder route.
TMO was there, offering to buy FTEs for 100k.

Funny story, back in the day it took 1 person tracking and the rest of the guild just camping out in strategic spots to kill mobs. Now it takes 30 people poop socking for the entire 16 hour duration of the window to even have a chance (ie: VS)

Lets do some basic math.
1 person x 96 hours = 96 hours of man power
30 people x 16 hours = 480 hours of man power

hmmmm
Let's get real here:

There are never 30 people staring at a spawn point from one guild ever, except Noble clickfests. During that 16 hours, if there are even 30 people from one guild poopsocking something, most likely 1-2 are actually doing any "work" while the others are all logged in afk, waiting for a batphone or sound trigger and casually glancing at the screen once in awhile to see guildchat and throw a buff on someone occasionally.

Also, are you telling me that during the 96 hour windows you guys only had 1 person sitting in the zone through the entire window? I find that hard to believe.

Are you sure? I mean we have people that poopsock the VP pad for repops even when dragons are not in window. I think the biggest change is the sheer number of L60 toons on this server owing to the length of Kunark and Chardok exploits.

Yes that is exactly what happened during 96 hour windows. One tracker that people rotated on for the duration of the window. The one positive and sorely missed aspect of 4 day windows was no one was going to poopsock that long. Yes, there was huge trak and vs socks, but that was at the last 8 hours out so of a window. Hence extended variance.

I think the best part was during 96 hour windows you could actually leave the house while stuff was in window and expect to make it back before they spawned. Now, with 16 hour windows, you've got to be near your computer the entire 16 hour window if you expect to make the raids.

The old windows were deffinetly loads easier and promoted 1000% less poopsocking. The only difference now is that there are more spawns to go around and no chance for one guild to lock everything down. Overall, raid scene improved. Honestly though, if they were looking to end poopsocking they did it all wrong.

IMO every raid boss should just be on a completely random (ie raid mobs are always in window, with respawn timers from 1 second to XX days) spawn timer. That way you never know when something will spawn and poopsocking is useless.

I agree with this. Would make it pointless to camp out buffed too I'd think.

Raid scene would be drastically better with 3 rules and 96 hour windows.

1. No training
2. Only 2 trackers at spawn point and raids camped at the currently unofficially agreed on spots.
3. FTE is king.

omg this just reminds me of the TMO necro that was getting owned at the derv camp in WC this morning. I asked if he needed help and his response was "i got this faggot". After many lols sparked by me poking at his angst, he then said to me "good luck getting into tov when i go pd loot last night"

oh the embarrassment i felt for this poor angry necro. I just wish I could remember his name!
