Trump's just another in a long line of pandering dipshits who get a few months of attention by cupping the balls of all the old, white, racist/misogynist/warmongering social conservatives, gets a lead in the polls and then flames out and you end up with a McCain or a Romney or a Jeb Bush - who then has to walk back their own more subtle racist/misogynist/warmongering bullshit for the general election.

Every four years, like clockwork.

Problem for the Dems this time around is that they're running out a couple of fossils.
that's true, luckily for us Dems the batman is running for the nom. Did you know batman's secret identity is political playboy, Bernie Sanders!

I hope Trump wins, so that he can revoke Deferred Action. That way I can go back to not having a social security number, an awesome job, and no longer pay taxes.

I have a good friend who is a big-time political consultant for Republican candidates and causes here in Northern California. Says he's pretty friendly with politicians on both sides of the aisle at the Capitol - and that there's a growing feeling among local Dems that Hillary's going to slide in the polls, and if Biden jumps in they'll end up with a brokered convention.

And through the convention process, Al Gore will rise from the ashes as your Democratic nominee for POTUS.

Grain of salt though - this is the same guy that told me McCain was going to beat Obama by about 200 electoral votes. That was pure partisanship though - he thinks Gore would win the general pretty easily if he's nominated.
No way AL Gore wins the general election. He was close last time but consider his competition. At that time he hadn't spent 15 years amassing ammunition for his opponents to pummel him with.

Incidentally, I have a friend who is a republican consultant previously with a congressman and a senator and was with a governor last I spoke with him. I'm sure he's great at what he does but he can't pick a presidential election to save his life. I wonder if it's all of them? Would certainly explain a lot.

Haven't seen a candidate on either side that looks like a winner, yet. But it's early.

Yeah, I never know when this guy is drunk on partisanship or looking at things in a level headed manner. All I know is that he picks a shitty fantasy football team every year.

I think you'd be surprised at Gore's ability to get Dems to the polls, if he won the nomination. So unless the Republicans figure out that Rubio's the guy, I think he'd win the general pretty handily.

Thing about Gore is since he last ran for anything he fabricated a documentary advancing a hoax that he's made something like 100 million dollars off of. Or was it more than that? Been so long since I've even thought about that guy. Heard of a carbon credit or exchange recently? If he runs you will.

The biggest advantage any democrat has is that they get to run against a republican. The republican party seems hell bent on picking the worst possible candidate for the current issues at hand going back to the first Bush. And then not campaigning to win.

Actually, next time I talk to my buddy I'm going to ask what's up with that.

I could get behind Rubio but I highly doubt he will get the nomination. He would make a good president and appeal to the Hispanic vote, but that would make too much sense for these idiots running the party. Why do something like that when another Bush giving speeches in Spanish will do? They just love their establishment people way too much.

Not my preference, at all, but I'd bet money it winds up being Bush.

however, like I said before, I think trumps actual supporters are non factors such as klan members, 80+ year old racists, really poor and useless white people. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

LOL being anti-immigrant is racist???

There are a finite number of jobs. Increasingly, more jobs are being automated. You know which groups have been disproportionately affected by free trade and immigration? Urban blacks and rural whites, the two poorest groups of people in this country.

So tired of every debate automatically being shut down by someone shouting "dats rayciss." I'm brown and an immigrant, so I don't support trump, but facts are facts. There is a very rational argument to be made that free trade and immigration have diminished the economic potential of a huge number of Americans.

PS: for all the rambling about the bigotry of republicans, id like for you to recall who signed NAFTA - a democrat by the name of William Clinton. And Barack Obama is working his ass off to get TPP through, after signing a budget in fiscal year 2014 that was written by lobbyists for Citigroup.

I'm voting Donald trump or Bernie sanders. I don't agree with either of their policies. It's more a protest vote against two parties that are more concerned about lining the pockets of their financial supporters than making America a better place for ALL of its citizens.

Not in and of itself. The way Republican candidates use their anti-immigrant stances to fire up the shit-stains that are the far-right wing of their party's base is certainly racist.

Don't forget outsourcing work to India and other second world places. Good post though.
