Actually the first season of TNG had some real weird episodes and I alwyas liked them. Years later I found out Roddenberry had a lot influence on them and they later hired some new people and introduced more drama into it. I'm ok with the drama, but I was ok with the first two seasons as well. I guess people like you weren't ok with it?

One of my favorites was the one where Picard opens the door and it goes out into space.

EDIT: I just googled and it's 'Where No One Has Gone Before' .
No way dude I love that shit. I seen every tng ep like 300 times.

Im just pointing out the diff that you agree hehe

Once I posted on the internet "why are there guys wearing mini skirts in tng" and I got one of my favorite replies from an anon, "because he believed in the future we'd be able to not care about things like that but because of people like you we won't"

I was like lol wut I do haha

Love the internet

TNG's "monster of the week" gimmick was actually really good, and if not monsters there was some good character development episodes.

Love me some Star Trek. Also a fan of DS9 but I feel like I have to watch 2-3 episodes in a sitting because of the continuing storyline. Quark vs Odo scenes probably topped it for me, some funny shit [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Never liked Janeway (that voice), or Neelix (ugh), or Tuvok (so vulcan he didnt really add anything), or Chakotay (too bland). If not for the Doctor I think the series would have been axed.

True but the episode where they go to 1997 is almost as good as star trek 3

It's a great show to binge while also watching sliders kek

Also not saying the new movies are the same by the way just that they are what TOS would have evolved into naturally given the same amount of time it's taken for them to evolve into what they are now, speed. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Or at the very least, not a bastardization.
Also these're movies, not TV shows. A TV version of STar Trek would probably be like one of hte standard dramas. You know, the transgender Captain crying on the gay islamic First Officer's shoulder and characters so deep you'll asphyxiate. And everything else a series of bakc and forth comedy and commentary on the latest flavor of ice cream.

That's not much different from TOS or TNG in all reality. But it's different from movies which tend to be faster and vapid. You won't see any scenes like hte flute in TNG which Picard sometimes used. That was a reference to "Inner Light". You don't see that in movies because the general movie going audience won't get it. Canon is less important.

TV can get away with things. Those're hte things which made STar Trek famous! A STar Trek that's famous as a movie is not the same kind of Star Trek. It's a brand of Star Trek, but it shouldn't it should be mistaken as the same thing.
