This is correct, and it is working as it should.

As stated, each general has a token of appreciation for keeping them alive.

You are supposed to get many items if you do it right. Consider how difficult it is.

Same as 8th ring war - there are a number of side rewards if you do it right.

No reason to wake it anytime soon, it's completely uncontested due to our dominance on the key mobs. More farming yet to do.
