The issue with RFS on live (not sure about here) was the delay was so low that it qualified under the 1h damage bonus instead of the higher 2h damage bonus

Can someone reliably speak on the RFS and if it's worth having. Why and why not?

You said the damage is low. You lack details and reasoning. The ratio is superb. What does that mean exactly. Is it confirmed that the bonuses are different for it?

Damage bonus for delays less than 28 follow the 1h model. Weapons with longer delays receive greater bonus. That discrepancy means the RFS lags behind the slower IFS of the same ratio by about 6-7% iirc. The increased rate of attack means you will also suffer more ripostes and more damage shield. Choosing to use it over an IFS or PB is essentially choosing to pay more for less dps out and more dps in. The one upside is the faster rate of attack is better for push. If that is what you are after though why not just dual wield? ^^

The monk DPS chart indicates that RFS is slightly better DPS than IFS. I'm not sure if it's accurate, though, and the points about ripostes and damage shields still stand.

That calculator doesn't take into account the main reasons to use a 2H when soloing/leveling (less ripostes from npc's, higher damage of your own ripostes, less damage from damage shields).

RFS also goes against those reasons. It's a very good weapon for sub-30 leveling when the damage cap is low but not much better than a Wu's Quivering Staff which is 100plat vs the 30k or whatever RFS goes for these days. You can get a Tranquil Staff which is better at almost every level range for cheaper - if you are going to drop a lot of plat on a 2her for a monk twink just get that instead.

Man0warr more or less nailed it. This weapon would be fairly cheap if it still dropped.

As far as head to head damage is concerned, I'd wager it would beat IFS. The ratio is identical. The damage bonus is smaller, but you're applying it literally twice as often. I could be mistaken, but I don't think the dmg bonus on the IFS is double the dmg bonus the RFS.

But - it's ridiculously overpriced (mostly because it no longer drops) and being that fast negates any of the reasons to use a 2hander in the first place. For that kind of money you would be better off buying a Tstaff or an epic MQ.

Monks have this kind of strange Kunark anti-choice: the AC/SoS, Epic/SoS, and Tstaff are all about the same amount of damage. I give the edge to the Tranquil Staff because of the unresistable stun, but all three are solid all the way to 60 (the PB/IFS/RFS are all a bit worse). You can't upgrade out of this tier without NToV weapons or a Primal.

I'd probably go for a fungi next.

Wu's Fist and Scepter of Mastery would both be slight upgrades outside of NToV/Sleepers wouldnt they? Wu's is kind of rough to get, but Scepter should easily be one groupable if I remember right.
