Default Shadow Knight Starter tips?

So after much making and remaking and thinking I decided to make a Shadow Knight. Im a tank at heart and so thats what I want to do. Paladins just dont have the appeal to me and I hate warriors. Ive always loved the knight classes so I figured this would do it for me.

Im now a level 5 orge sk in Innothule Swamp trying to get some levels but im running into a problem. It seems im dying faster than I can get xp. I wanted to hold off till i got spells for aggro to group so trying to make it to level nine.

My current gear is just some leather i found on a vendor and some cloth fromt he frogloks as well as a Two-Handed Sword.

Does anyone have any tips to make this process to 9 easier? Maybe a better place to try and kill?

Hit me up in game tonight. I'll come buff you and throw you some coin... makes starting out a lot less frustrating.

Go to EC, find a group. Who cares if you don't have aggro-holding spells. Alternatively, go to EC, get buffed, solo shit.

On live I played an SK up to 43, so that's kind of the paradigm i'll be speaking from.

My personal advice is to get a port to NK and get a bind in Qeynos. Kill gnolls until you can sell (shouldn't take long). Once your faction is good enough you can do http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=503

A good way to gain faction with the Bloodsabers is to (once your faction in Qeynos is good) do http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=539

This, combined with gnoll fangs & giving 4 honey meads to trumpy after turning in lightstones should make your faction balls awesome with everyone, even the priests of life, who you can also turn rat shaped rings into if you want to.

After stomping Blackburrow & getting some Onyx Earrings & Rusty spiked Shoulderpads (& other stuff from catacombs quests) you have infinite options.

I like to do bandits in WK & turn the sashes into the temple of thunder in Qeynos, which will be cool with you by this point. However, this WILL kill your faction with the bloodsabers, so you might want to hold off.

You can really go wherever you want at this point. I like to go to kind of less populated places that I didn't really explore on live. Befallen & Najena are great and you will kick serious balls in Unrest.

i like Najena because you can get large bronze VERY early compared to other places.

If you need a hand with anything PM Alkaiser, I think I have some stuff you would find useful.

Have a good one,

You know, you're a pretty nice guy when you're not trolling forum posts. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Innothule is a good spot that should be 'relatively' easy up to 8-10. Assuming you've zoned in from Grobb, the troll city, simply hug the right wall until you're close to Guk. Pull stuff there. Don't move into the swamp unless you're with more or the roamers and respawns will simply swamp (harhar) you. Eventually you'll figure out where mobs spawn, where you can expect roamers and all that.

The magical cloth the frogloks drop sells oh so nicely, so I'd advise to stay. Also, reguarly do a /who as there's lots of traffic of people going to Guk. Try and steal some buffs of of em [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

P.S. If you need Bloodsabers faction after bandit sash turn ins you can just kill exhausted guards in the catacombs. They're around level 8.
