I love Rozcoe. He is one of my favorite dial a porters.
we need to start a petition to get him reinstated

I had a conversation with Rozcoe about it, I agree, bards, by class seem to be the cheapest. I've debating a bard embargo myself, but there are rare generous individuals that stay my hand. Instead, just /ignoring cheap players.

Just playing devil advocate here because I think Rozcoe had every right to deny service. That being said wouldn't it be just as easy to ask for payment upfront? I try to sneak it in before port anyway incase the porter LDs in transit.
my issue here is the denial of service to ALL bards, because of the actions of ONE player. seems like an abuse of power, and it makes me wonder to the attitude of the dialaport franchise as a whole. it seems like the only thing that motivates these people is profit. id love to take a look at their private forums, there is probably all sorts of negativity.

but i guess thats what happens when an institution has a monopoly and no competition. its a fact that many players leave their guilds in order to compete with the porting scene, or at least to get a slice of the cake. i dont have a problem with people making their own decisions, but dismantling guilds for the sake of profit is not server-friendly(imo).

is it so ridiculous to suggest, considering the huge numbers of members in dialaport, that some would create dummy forum accounts to discredit obvious complaints made against their empire?

As I have posted on another thread of this same general theme, I have no real problem with Dial a Port. I don't have a bard, but I've never been denied service by any of them.

IF, however, I were to be denied service, I would do one of two things: I would ask another dial a port, or I would ask one of their officers in a /tell whether this was a new guild policy. I somehow doubt that it is.

I have a level 58 druid. I do port people from time to time. Some tip me very well. Some are horrible at tipping. I haven't found that any one class is any better or any worse than others, although I have found that the members of many of the "elite" guilds on the server tend to be a little worse tippers.

Its his choice if he wants to limit his customer base by excluding bards. He has the right to refuse service to anyone, for anything, in my opinion.
