Server Population

As a newcomer to the server, still waiting for my laptop to arrive, just kind of curious what kinds of classes are overly populated, which ones are really scarce, etc..

also.. I have searched for some sort of timeline of this servers progression plans and havent found anything, is there any information about when it started/what is out/what will be out and when? thanks

damn. i cant wait to start playing...

Best advice - make a class you like playing the most, and stick with it.

Server population top has been 525? I haven't checked today. As far as overpopulated classes, I can't comment (I just don't pay that much attention).

We're roughly following a classic timeline of progression. Temple of Solusek Ro was just released.

Thanks for that. Also Another question i have is, i had been playing on projectEQ before my computer crashed would an install modified for project1999 still allow players to log onto PEQ? i wouldnt think so but i figured i'd ask, im so bored..

haha im definitely not a newbie to the game, i have already a class in mind, however i am just curious how the rest of the population is looking, i mean are groups consistently lacking tanks or healers or does it seem to be spread out

I've been max level for 3 months now.. so I really don't have an answer for you. But there are more level 50's every week, so I think it would be safe to assume that you are going to be fine with whatever class you choose. Back in my day, you had to bring your own tanks and healers to your group.. Sometimes you would have a tank, or a healer lined up.. and then spend 2 hours waiting for the other to come along. Life was good as a magician.

I think the server is a bit low on tanks, but not desperately.

i am a lvl 10 paladin, so i cant talk for everyone. but you dont see "group x looking for healer/dps" you always see "group x looking for tank"..always..lol so i'm happy with what i picked (even though the stupid 40% xp is bringing me down a little bit lol. i try not to think that i should be lvl 14 right now ;(

I've noticed the population distributing is mimicking raid-comps, actually, which is strange o_O. Tends to be an abundance of dps / healers with only a few cc/tanks. If you want a permanent group make an SK =P.

Yea, Im all for this "classic" server but the 40% penalty is just plain stupid and should never have been a part of this build.
