Danth is spot on, but let's be honest about the % of people that play this game and would rather spend 30 minutes waiting for a port from BB To WC before attempting to ride the boat. These types of ports account for a lot of cr port requests. People are too impatient to even snag a bond near where they are actively grinding and when they die who feels entitled for that cr port?

<shrug> I have never had a bad experience with Dial a Port, although I admit that I am not a member, nor have I ever been a member of their guild. A guild is entitled to have whatever rules they want. I suspect many of the guilds on the server occasionally talk about other players and/or guilds, and probably not in ways they would want broadcast over OOC. What happens in a guild's guild chat is the business of that guild and its officers, no one else.

Its the OP's right to complain here... that's what this forum is for. Its also Tupakk's right to defend himself. Enough with bashing both sides, and get on with killing pixels.
Personally I've used DaP for years. Never ran across Tupakk or Afen but I have meet several nice players in that guild. I usually tip from 50pp-100pp depending on where I'm going and how much mana they will have to use on top of that I also give them mind buffs If I am on my <enchanter>. Half the time they either refuse my tip or they accept it and give me free port for the rest of that day/week. I've made countless friends from that guild that If I send a tell for a CR or a port they will come instantly to help for free. I'm sure there might be one or two bad apples in that guild but I have never happened across them. IF I ask for a port and they tell me I'm <this number in line> I usually ask another one if it is urgent. Never meet a rude porter or anything. I do let them know upfront if I don't have pp on me but I usually end up finding them later on and making up for that. It all depends on how you act towards them sometimes. Never had them tell me my tip was bad or port me to the wrong place and leave me. Even had one who helped me locate my corpse in BW and Skyfire when I died and asked for a CR port.

<Just some food for thought there>

Plus a lot of the Druids in that guild will personally ask me for Mind buffs if I'm sitting in EC or at any druid rings and will offer free ports. Just depends on what type of person you are. I always get tells form them and vis versa.

Enchanters are very valuable to us. Sometimes I even pay them and port them.

We thank you for your service as an enchanter and just cause you don't see me doesn't mean I'm not around [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

DAP is awesome, even if they don't have some strict recruiting process for their guild. 99% of them are cool, a small minority are not.

Typically the bad ones leave or get booted pretty fast.

The guild provides a very useful service, and in return allows druids/wizards a way to make money helping others out. I don't see the big deal here.

Only complaints about DAP are from people enjoying the troll.

It's more like a druid adds me to friends knowing I am usually on and don't mind buffing him for free since I don't accept tips on my enchanter, even from DaP. It's all how you act towards them. I have several friends who are no longer in DaP that will still port me for free. I don't own a druid high enough to port yet nor to I own a wizard. So I'm not I DaP. I just like being nice, and in return they are nice to me.

Which leads onto something else with entitlement. On my cleric I used to feel valued, if I'm rezzing someone with my epic it was always an awesome thing for people - a quick 96 rez and they'd donate something, even if it was a few peridots it was always welcomed.

Nowadays if you're not /anon people expect a free rez if you're in the zone they died in. Often no tip, just a "thanks" and usually a "hey can i get a HP buff/AC/etc?"

Don't shit on the server's clerics... they're some of the nicest people. If you'd tip 50pp for a port, remember clerics can't earn anything outside of grouping. Keep a stack of peridots on you for port/rez tips, I do [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
I always tip any cleric that rezzes me 100pp because most the time they go out of their way. If they are in zone spamming that they are rezzing I'll tip 50pp since they are already there. People need to treat the clerics good too. Most of the time clerics will not accept tips or donations, but its kind if you offer then a tip (9/10 they will remember you and wont think twice on coming to rez you if you ask).
