Default Dial a Free Port!

If you need a port and have been asked to pay up front a specific amount by a <Dial a Port> member then post your character here and I will pick you up and take you where you like to go! I'll leave this post active as long as I am available and will be checking it regularly.

/w all druid <Level range for port to destination>
/tell #1 Hey can you..
/tell #2 Hey can you..
repeat until results.

Shouldn't take more than 5 minutes tops. And if you're at a ring or wizard spire you can usually get picked up in even less time.

I only use dap if I'm in a rush. AND it usually takes a fking age and half so I've stopped using dap. Not sure why it takes someone so long to port,. accept plat,. port, repeat.
And if they're going to run a mile to someone they should go Anon so other people don't spam them waiting for a port that's going to take 20 minutes.
I'm not ranting, This is just my personal experience. *shrugs*

I don't mind paying and if they ask for a tip up front when 4 people who agree to that are in line?

Seems the demand for ports is very high and the paying players get first dibs.

That's a rant but it's ok.

Fact is they often have lots of tells and people waiting for ports, sometimes people send tells and are not clear in what they want, where they going etc., so there's lots of factors involved with why someone porting for plats isn't always instantly able to come straight to you for your port or able to instantly begin explaining the entire situation as to why they are being slow to get you.

There are times when the porter is also not on top of their job (it's their job, after all they are getting paid for their porting service.) Not all porters are fast typers, not all are organized, and some lose track of tells etc. It's all human factors that contributes to slow porting and it's not all the porter's fault nor is it always the customers fault either.

These kind of rants only show a lack of empathy and understanding of the entire porting situation. I recommend for someone that doesn't understand it, or gets highly frustrated as baler does with the porting situation to make a porter and join DAP and then you can see for yourself how it goes.

Had to stop using DAP due to the long lines everytime I asked one of their druids. Great service back when it was fresh but I think it could use some branching out into separate tags as I'm just using /who all druid due to the lines.

Some of them keep track of way too long of queues. and then others will try to coordinate ports for maximum efficiency like bunching up the ports to same locs etc. This just slows it down and imo adds frustration to those waiting. But w/e. I just look for specific DAP players the ones I know are good and fast unless something abnormal pops up.

You must have really thin skin if you think that's a rant. I put a curse word in it. oh man I must be having a mental anger meltdown! Not

Just shared my experience with DaP. Not every review has to be 5 stars best experience of your life. Sometimes the service sucks and your food is under cooked. There is no need to show empathy if you have to wait a long time just to get food poisoning.

ps. this dap topic has been talked about so much. It's like beating a dead horse every time someone makes a new thread sharing their complaints about dap.

As a DAP member, it can get hectic when you are the only one porting. I have had queues of 6 people before, and I try to do them in such a way to minimize downtime for everyone while still keeping the ones who asked first as top priority. It's tough, though.

A lot of us also will use guild chat to ease some of the queue at times.
