Default Picking Server/Booted To Login

First I wanted to say - WELL DONE! I have NEVER been able to capture the magic and feelings of wonder I had playing classic EQ no matter how many other games or MMO's I played over the years. I LOVE this and have so much appreciation for everyone involved in this project! I can lose myself in this version of the game and feel as if I'm playing EQ as a newbie many many years ago.

Now, onto my issue ... I followed all instructions and have the game set up and running wonderfully on my PC. I decided I'd like to have it running on my laptop as well - mostly for portability. This laptop has played EQ in the past, as late as a year ago, so I know it can run the retail game with new char models etc.

I've already uninstalled and reinstalled the game and redid the patches etc with the same result.

Basically I load the game, log in and get to server select. From there I pick the p99 server and enter world ... the game seems like it's starting to load and then just boots me back to the log in screen without any sort of message.

It's the same ISP and the same account, just a different computer. I'm guessing it's something to do with the computer itself but I have no idea what would even cause this issue or why it's happening.

Any help/suggestions/tips on where to look etc would be appreciated.

Thanks so much!

It's hard to tell what exactly it is but as it seems to crash when it's starting the 3d graphics. It can be possibly a graphic driver related problem. Try to install the newest graphic drivers available for your notebook.

If that doesn't fix the problem another step would be to take a look at the resolution. The game is possibly trying to start in a resolution your notebook is not supporting. You can change it, and a lot of other options, by starting a file called OptionsEditor.exe located in your Everquest folder.

Aust, I have a friend with the same issue. Do you run Windows 7? Were you able to find a solution?

Any Developer input on this? Friend has a laptop with Windows 7, and experienced the exact same bug. The client boots him back to server select right when the Character Select screen should be loading.

Any info appreciated...
