remember the year of 9/11 or the year after, the Patriots tore through the league and went into the AFC with record breaking numbers.

could argue that was the start of a dynasty and the prime team, but I remember it being awkward during the AFC playoffs with the ref bias.... and superbowl that year itself had that suspect refereeing where you had to question whether football was real. The media wrote about the Patriot movement and patriotism in America and the New York Times did a full feature on the Super Bowl that year with regards to America finding itself again. Basically coordinated propaganda.

in basketball the refs definitely make calls to keep the game close and to promote competition, esp during the finals. in football, im leaning towards it being scripted. Last year was too bizarre, add that to the 9/11 victory and media coverage of the 9/11 victory and its like believing santa clause is real.
