How did we cope in 1999-2001? I know I missed a lot of the content by the time Looselin arrived despite goofing around a lot and making alts [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
Nobody really knew the game I guess. But well, we didn't? It was toxic as hell in 1999-2001. They literally changed the core game loop of EverQuest after Velious because of how toxic the game had become.

I missed the launch years of p1999
Take solace in knowing you didn't miss much. I was there. The "good old days" weren't so good. P1999 originated as a sort of stopgap option while the community waited for another classic emulator (which has since fallen through) and had none of the quality it's now associated with. Instead it played like the semi-broken mess stereotypical of emulators. The population was small and nothing worked right. P1999 didn't feel reasonably mature until about 2011-2012 or so.

A "green" server, if it ever exists, will feel vastly different than P1999's early days--different and largely superior. It won't be a re-hash. Mechanics will work right, and due to greater community awareness the population should be much higher.
