No I'm not, but I'm quite averse to words like "gasping for air" spoken by somebody who clearly has no political or personal animus toward a human who just died.

Dude was a ghoul who tried to plunder the United States and actively campaigned against mask-wearing in a country where tends of thousands are dying of a pandemic that can mostly be counteracted by mask-wearing. As far as I'm concerned he deserved the guillotine, but the disease he and his cronies repeatedly tried to minimize for financial gain works just fine.

That strategy just tanks the economy worse than a shutdown does. People will stay home because they’re afraid. Whether you like it or not, a brief but total shutdown made more sense. Now that it’s ubiquitous, who knows. But the minimum people can do is wear a mask.

Both sides are correct here, fire fighting can reduce damage (but comes with its own risks) but a fire will burn itself out eventually.

If one half is dousing while the other side lets burn both tactics will be negatively impacted (the fire in the doused area will keep reigniting and the burn out will take longer). If both tactics are used there are strategic decisions on where to douse (which parts we can not allow to be damaged).

It's being described by epidemiologists/immunologist as more of a forest fire than a house fire. A small, but important distinction. The biggest takeaway is that it's likely here for at least one generation, if not much longer.
