Unless Daybreak makes a truly classic experience with classic models, classic zones, classic everything then what they do will not affect P99 at all.

"Never" is a long time. Took a decade to get Green v1. Let's wait at least a half decade or so before worrying overmuch about Green v2's status.

Why can;t that company just do what Diablo 2 did and make Everquest: Remastered? Or work on another game? What do those people even do all day?

It is thought that even Daybreak Games, the current legal owners of EQ, don't have the original EQ source code themselves. As far as the public knows, no one does.

Of course, it's always possible someone will find a hard drive with the source in their basement (or they already have and no one knows it) ... but it's very likely that the original source has since been lost entirely.

I do not think Daybreak games has anyone with an IQ above 60 working there. They never even made any games yet....all they have are old games.

I was told the Oggokening was a side effect of a bug fix. I don't think it has anything to do with Green 2.0 other than that I guess that bug won't occur on Green 2.0.

Still, I think we can believe there will be a Green 2.0.

From what I can tell reading the EQ2 forums and stuff, their teams have a lead for most departments, and then any projects they can get the budget for, they outsourced to India and then the lead in San Diego has to go through the outsourced work and make sure it's all ok. It sounds like the worst possible way to development.
