It wouldn't be difficult for the federal government to spin up enough pharmaceutical production facilities to get us by if China and the others try to play hardball on life-saving medicines.

Fatty already invoked the defense production act this term and we saw how effective that was last term in delivering a COVID vaccine(s).

Plus on-shoring drug production hurts China and they need to be taken down a peg. It wouldn't be long before our private industry would want to wet their beaks and costs would fall precipitously.

It's definitely fascism though. The merger of, or incestuous business relationships between the public and private sectors is fascism.
