Not to trivialize your report, but (sadly) 50 combines with no skill up, while unusual, isn't outside the realm of statistical normalcy.

There could be a bug, but it's also very possible you're just unlucky (I don't think I've had a run quite that bad, but I've certainly had bad days where I did well over a stack of combines, and got nothing).

well its not logically possibly to know the statistical normalcy unless you could see the code so thats why i reported it. seems very odd and i'm sus that its not reported triviality properly

However, just so you have realistic expectations, it's at least somewhat likely there's no bug here.

Let's say you have a 1 in 20 chance of getting a skill up (the exact number depends on the details of intelligence and the item's trivial). In 50 attempts, the odds that none of them will hit that 1 in 20 chance is about 7.7% (according to the AI I asked ... I never took statistics).

That's unlikely! But, if you think of how many combines you've done, it's not surprising that one batch might be extra bad. Now, 1 in 20 was a rough number, and maybe it's only (say) 1 in 15 ... but either way, the point is that regular old bad luck explains your situation ... and also explains why you got no trivial message.

I've done 2 stacks of fletching, 40 combines, and have gotten no skillups. It's not impossible it happened, it's not good that it happened, but that's the RNG at work. Each attempt gets the dice rolled, it's not a percentage of the total number you do, it's a percentage for each attempt.

update, did 20 combines just a little bit ago with the same recipe and got 2 skillups so you guy are right.

just felt off for none with 50 but you never know i guess

It's very annoying when you're doing the upper trivial combines because they can cost a fortune and all you want is to finally see the backside of that one to get to things you really want to make.
