How do you guys handle budgeting for long-term gaming costs? Between hardware upgrades for that classic feel, high-end peripherals, and just general "life" expenses, I’m finding it hard to keep my gaming resources separate from my day-to-day spending.

Don't think I've ever budgeted anything in my life so, can't help you sadly.

1. Pray to the dark gods your machine doesn't die for 5+ years.
2. The only peripherals you need are a basic keyboard/mouse covered in cheeto dust. If you get used to fancy peripherals, you'll miss them when they break and you can't afford new ones. 3. The majority of games you can play do not need high end hardware. Try playing some games that aren't AAA from the past few years.

If my PC exploded tomorrow I'd probably go for the "popular these days" pay in 4 installments through Paypal or something similar, or at worst... put it on a credit card and limit all other outgoings til its paid off asap.
I've never been one to really budget ahead for PC parts/costs.
