Character Transfers on p99

A little late, but on November 1st, the one millionth character was created on the blue server. This does include characters that have been deleted, but it's still a pretty cool milestone.

Wonder if the plan is once that project launches and is running to turn more effort to launching a new P99 server. There's clearly still intent there from the patches they've been doing and Nilbog's statements like "this change would be reflected in future server iterations".

Wouldn't be surprised if once EQ:L is running smoothly they begin more concerted efforts on another P99 server. I don't think Daybreak views that as an issue...if anything it generates more interest in the EQ IP and might get people to realize EQ:L exists who didn't otherwise.

I would expect the only thing EQL impacts is it creates a time barrier where there won't be anything released on P99 so as to not compete with new launch dynamics (pop spike). Now whether that time barrier even has any bearing on the P99 next server launch timeline is unclear. Still work to be done on the non-classic resists and channeling overhaul before P99 is ready for a new launch.

Why on earth would they do that? EQ:L is a box sale + monthly sub.

The RMT river has run dry on p99. Its over. Move on.

If EQ:L is profitable (it will be), I would expect a version of p99 or Quarm or both to be rolled out under Game Jawn's banner. Don't expect another free server, anticipate a paid version.

Server transfers were not a thing in classic -> Velious era.

They definitely were. My brother transferred servers from The Seventh Hammer to Berotxx. They move the character and nothing else. He lost his Pegasus Feather Cloak and still bitches about it 25 years later.
