Default Is this ok to do?

Group of 6 chilling together clearing out names. 5 of the 6 are in the same guild and the 6th is an independent contractor. Few hours pass and all loot is rolled on. Big name pops and 2 items drop. One item worth 3k the other is a 10k to 15k druid spell. We roll on the 3k item. About 5 mins pass and the toon, not in the guild, asks if we are going to roll on the spell. No one in the group is a druid. But 2 have a level 60 druid. The non-guild toon is told that it was given to the person in the guild because they do a lot for the guild. The only loot rule set up was we roll on all and need before greed, for the classes in the group. Is this the way?

nah it should be rolled like the rest of it

5/6 in the same guild, odds are they win the roll and can give to who they want anyway

if lucky outsider wins the 1/6 thats the way it goes

The strong do what they can and the weak suffer what they must. 🤪

This, OP, is a prime example of why I don't group at high value camps with randos. The only way I ever see fit in these camps is between trusted allies and a classic sell and split.

The /random to determine who wins loot is a garbage system. If any single player could solo the content to claim sole ownership rights of the loot - they would. Why does a, for examples sake, level 52 mage get to loot a Hierophant's Cloak because he won a random roll? Instead, the level 52 mage should get an equal split to everyone else in the group. If he wants to claim a cloak for himself, he can either pay the group the plat required (minus his split) or he can level an Enchanter or Shaman to solo Hierophant Prime and get a cloak all to himself.

Grouping in camps like this is about teamwork, and therefore the reward should reflect that.
