Enchanter Charming - Charm a white-yellow mob ...
Maybe others have had different experiences, but I would not try to charm solo with white/yellow pets unless you're under level 20...and even then it seems like a bad idea. I go with the lowest dark blue I can find. Level difference is the world on this server when it comes to charm duration.

EDIT: Out of curiosity, can bards swarm kite on p99 blue, or is the same training code there as well? I was pretty irritated when I realized that I cannot swarm kite Hill Giants.
Very possible, but hard to do with anything that has a larger model due to the size/shape of the hitbox. Alligators, rhinos, mammoths, and giants are all bad for swarm kiting. You will also not make any friends swarm kiting hill giants [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

charming whites and yellows is far too dangerous, particularly for soloing. your charm will last a few ticks on average.

he's referring to charm-type swarm kiting, which is impossible on both blue and red.

Dark blues are always safer, but that's why you have stuns, root, and can recharm. If you are having trouble with mana and the xp is better, stick with dark blues. You should only need charm to last for 30 seconds.

As for the bard thing, damn that sucks!

don't need advice, i have a level 60 enchanter, thanks. and you need far longer than 30 seconds on a charm, especially as you get higher level. mob hp outstrips dps very quickly. charm soloing is the most dangerous thing you can do in this game. every time a charm breaks, you're in a situation where 2 or 3 resists in a row, or getting more than 1 add means almost certain death. the added resist chance and harder hitting on an even or yellow mob is simply never worth it.

some of you might construe this as e-peening, i am simply trying to give the OP good advice and protect him from bad advice.

So, when choosing a race for an enchanter with the intention of using charm to level, which would you choose?

Dark Elves have hide, which seems very valuable. High Elves have the best CHA. Erudites have the best INT.

...I know Glitch would say Dark Elf, I'm a bit inclined to agree. I also don't know when CHA reaches a point of diminishing returns.

hide > everything else. especially if this is classic. stats barely matter for enchanters, a naked enchanter is almost as effective as a fully geared one. therefore, the best choice is dark elf.

a gazugi ring is better than hide, but since we're talking about the pvp server, and a rare 10k+ item, hide will be better than nothing for a long time.
