My Tor guild is on endgame and there isn't much to do. We decided to roll on Project 1999 and rock eq. Let me tell you how in two days we are spending more time playing this epic game than the latest and greatest. So many memories.
You guys should roll red. That would stir things up a bit.

PvP for dragons instead of waiting for a turn to poopsock one.

If you do decide to "roll red", i.e. PVP, be advised that is a very different expeience than you will find on the "blue" (main) server. If you are looking to relive your original EQ experience, you probably want to be on the regular Project 1999 server.

We aren't sure what our complete plans are. Obviously we have all these plans on attack to gear us out and level up together. Gchat is blowing up at work with links of gear.

Why do you ask if he has? He is entirely correct. The game clones WoW to a laughable degree-- only the game is even more dumbed down and has none of the Blizzard polish. If the game had a new unique IP instead of star wars then it would have failed big time. I'm only sad the game will make a profit, because I'm offended as a gamer that it was even made.

Seven years and counting and we still get nothing but WoW clone after WoW clone. And jackasses just eat it up. When I see WoW and any pseudo MMORPG made after it, I see something not much better than a facebook flash game made by Zynga. They all sold out depth and gameplay to lure casual idiots into a lame skinner box. Imagination from game development is gone. MMORPG designer is the easiest job in the world now. Just follow Blizzard's blueprint. Make a shitty copy of a shitty game and get paid.

Yes I play it, but only because I didn't have to pay for it and a good friend of mine likes star wars and plays it. I play it sort of like how you might go to a shitty movie with friends.

Good choice, was going to say don't bother with a Shadowknight, great for keeping threat, but the penalty will mean u will level 40% slower than the rest. So u will need to play 3 times as much (considering u exp more than twice as slow solo) to make up for the time :P
Not really, exp penalty is shared so each member of the group as a whole will level about 10% slower (considering you'll probably go for a large race and casters have a small penalty themselves).

I've heard many bad things about the game too, but I don't make assumptions and cry on the internet about things unless I have experienced them first hand.

I loved Tor, but he above poster is right. Its just a WoW Clone that you can faceroll and win. There is zero risk/reward in the game. I probably love it because i'm such a SW nerd. The best i've heard of an explaination is that its a coop Single player RPG.

The video's are great, the stories are interesting and the presentation is nice... but its all just fluff added to a slightly altered model.

Just like TOR has no risk / reward metric, you could say that the design of the game follows the same idea...

Anyways, I am hoping to start on this server. I was worried I am too late to find grouping opportunities.

I plan on playing around 7-12 PST on a semi regular basis and more on weekends.

Anyone from Drinal back in the velious days?
