Before red99 was even created, I suggested a "newb guild" that any new char would default to... mainly to help newbs find each other and level. Ready, built in communication system... and I'm sure some vets would even remain in-guild and never leave, staying to help newbs.

Whether they are alts or not, least it gets ppl immersed in some kind of community, which is really what EQ (and especially eq PvP) is about

seems like a good idea but it's pretty "non 1999 everquest". competing goals of making the game work with the current community and altering the original game...
