verant downtime sucked, anyone remember downloading the update files on a 56k or worse modem? jesus that took another day. Whoever said they would spend time in the tutorial just to get a bit of their fix i laughed out loud to that... totally relate, did the same thing.

I remember this very well, it pissed me off so bad that I took my tower to the local computer store to download the updates. The first time I when I expected to pay a huge fee to download it, but I found out everyone that worked there played EQ too and on the same server. That's about the time I got really into EQ since I actually knew some RL people who played.
